Volunteer Services
Volunteers are the heartbeat of OSF Saint James! Our committed volunteers come from all over Livingston County and surrounding areas. They make an important difference in the lives of patients and families by giving comfort and assistance; they are a vital and valuable part of our culture and patient-focused service.
Over 200 strong, our volunteers donate more than 20,000 hour of service in nearly 25 different areas. Whether it is volunteering for our many hospital departments; working in the Gift Shop, assisting at the Information Desk or helping patients find their way to their destination, our volunteers touch the hearts of many patients and staff.
The Auxiliary is also very active throughout the year staffing the beautiful all-volunteer Gift Shop, hosting fundraisers such as jewelry and purse sales, as well as being the primary sponsor of the spring gala.
Many students also volunteer in the summer and during the school year to learn more about health care careers. Students must be at least 14 years of age to volunteer.
